On July 23, 2015, the Mt. Lebanon Democrats visit Washington D.C. with the Allegheny County Democratic Committee on a trip to see Congressman Mike Doyle. Nearly 40 members from Democratic Committees across Pittsburgh (and beyond) showed up for the event.
The ACDC chartered a bus, which was a great opportunity for democrats to relax and chat during the drive to D.C. We discussed current events, upcoming local meetings, and candidates that we’ll be supporting into this election season.
Upon arrival in D.C. we made a stop at the Veterans Memorial and spent some time in the National Cemetery as well.
Next, we visited the Capitol Building and toured the galleries before meeting with Congressman Doyle after a voting session was completed. We spent a few minutes with the Congressman on the steps of the Capitol Building and then joined him for a personal lunch at the National Democratic Club.
After a wonderful lunch, we hopped back on the bus and headed back to Pittsburgh!
It was a wonderful trip, and a great meeting with Congressman Doyle. Another successful and timely event from Mt. Lebanon Democratic Committee and the Allegheny County Democratic Committee.
